Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do for a living and what are you interests?

I am a full time athlete and do a lot of coaching at schools in the Western Cape (mainly in Cape Town). I love seeing children develop and learn and get excited about it.

I also did some religious studies (3 years of Bible School and a Ministry Training Programme) from 2011-2013 and might one day go into full time ministry.

How and when did you get involved in Javelin?

I always played rugby and did athletics in school until Javelin started to stand out in 2009 (I had the 3rd best Distance in the world u/17 at 77.38m with 700g javelin). I love the athletics culture despite all of its challenges.

How do you prep for competition?

I train very hard until about 1 week from the competition and then just rest and do some easier training and rhythm exercises so that I can be on my best on the day of competition.

How important are supplements in your eating plan?

Very! I put my body through heavy training and as a result naturally it is constantly under pressure. Adding the correct supplementation into your diet ensures not only that you get the correct nutrients but also aids in your recovery and even lifts up your emotional state.
